My experience with my enlarged
prostate surgery was kinda wild with this one.
I can't explain the physiological cause of what
I am about to describe ... I can only share my
actual experience.
After my prostate surgery (TURP) I found that I could
sit for a reasonable period of time without feeling the
need take a pee.
This in itself was a 'huge relief'
because with an enlarged prostate, you feel internal
bladder pressure continually .... it's like you have to
go *all the time*!
It's that very same pressure that woke me up every 90
minutes before I had the surgery. Really, I don't
think that I got a good night's sleep for at least 6 or
7 months before my enlarged prostate surgery.
After
surgery, I could sit an watch TV like I did when I did
not have an enlarged prostate. But as soon as I
stood up or changed my center of gravity ... or made any
move that put pressure on the spot where I had the
surgery ..... I had trouble!
I had about 30 seconds to urinate
.... or I would go in my pants.
How do I know that, well because I actually did the
first time this happened to me
....
I was so embarrassed and luckily, I was home alone.
I'm am not exaggerating
here at all.
I mean
to tell you that when this happens,
you have to relieve yourself .... *NOW* !
The first two weeks were the
worst and I found that I simply had to stay close to a
bathroom. If you are considering a TURP procedure, or
any surgery on your prostate, I would suggest that you talk
to your doctor about this.
Remember, I am writing this
from my experience as a *patient* ... you may have a
different or less severe reaction.
I want to tell you that my
prostate, in terms of its' total mass ..... was *normal*
size!!! That's right ... normal.
I discovered
that prostates can become enlarged in two ways:
